Gus Riddell

Category of work:

Woodwork and design.

Describe your work in one sentence:

Somewhere between architecture, furniture and objects - mostly wood but sometimes other stuff too.

Why do you do it?

I love the making process. It fulfils both my hands and my mind.

What keeps you going (what’s your GRIT)?

I feel like I’m just getting started so I’m yet to really find out. But so far the ideas I have waiting in my sketchbooks keep me motivated.

What advice would you give to somebody wanting to become a ‘creative’?

Take inspiration from any place you can find it - explore different areas of work.

Tell us something unusual about yourself.

I often start the day with 12 weetabix - the perfect breakfast!
